Would nuclear fallout effect the colour of the sun?
I’m sure I’ve heard this somewhere, it’s nagging at the back of my mind. Basically I think I’ve heard that during the early stages of fallout, at dusk and dawn especially, the sun would appear to be a different colour.
I’m justifying it by the same ways we get a blue/red moon. Due to the different density’s in the atmosphere. Am I remembering this right? What colour would it be?

If there’s enough fallout then it would colour the atmosphere. You get the same effect after big volcanoes, the weather is cooler and the sunsets are very nice.

I think you are getting confused with a nuclear winter.
A nuclear winter, after a full exchange, would cause the sun to be blocked out.
Nuclear fall out occurs when a explosion hits the ground and the debris is sucked up into the cloud, made radio-active and slowly falls back to the ground.

yup but i doubt wed be alive to witness it. It’ll cause an after effect on the sky because of the particles it emits, they reflect light, this give the sky a beautiful reddish tint to it. This usually causes some very nice sunsets. It Almost always happens with a volcanic eruption, but can also happen from a nuclear explosion.
Usually something like this
